Healthier Sloppy Joes

These lightened up Sloppy Joes are a family favorite. They're lower in carbs and calories but no one will be able to tell! I like to eat mine on an Aunt Millie's low carb dinner roll.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef 96%
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey 99%
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce low sodium
  • 1/4 cup golden monkfruit sweetener
  • 2 Tbsp Heinz no sugar added ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 Tbsp green onions sliced

Method
 

  1. Scramble the ground beef and turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Once it is no longer pink, drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Cook over medium low heat for another 5 minutes.
