Every Easter, my girls and I make these Resurrection Rolls (also known as Empty Tomb Rolls.) My girls love this tradition. As the rolls bake, the marshmallow melts inside of the dough leaving the “tomb” empty.
Why are they called Resurrection Rolls?
These rolls symbolize Jesus’ burial and resurrection.
-The marshmallow represents Jesus. It is pure and sinless.
-The butter, cinnamon & sugar represents the oil and spices that Jesus’ friends rubbed on His body to get Him ready for burial.
-The crescent rolls represent the cloths that they wrapped His body in.
-The oven represents the tomb.
-Jesus was in the tomb for 3 days. On the 3rd day, He rose from the dead! The tomb was empty!
