Homemade egg noodles tossed with charred kielbasa and tender cabbage. Simple, hearty and pure comfort food!

Egg Noodle Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 Tbsp water

Haluski Ingredients

  • Egg Noodles
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 14 oz link of kielbasa
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Using a bowl or a clean work surface, make a pile with the flour and then create a hole in the center.

2. Add the salt to the flour and then add the whole egg and 3 egg yolks into the center.

3. Use your hands to mix it together until it is all combined.

4. Add one tablespoon of water at a time and keep mixing until a dough forms.

5. Knead for 5 minutes or until you can make an indent into the dough with your thumb and it bounces right back.

6. Use a rolling pin to roll it thin.

7. Cut into strips.

8. Boil in salted water for 3 minutes and then drain and set aside.

9. Wash the cabbage and cut it into small pieces.

I grew this from seed!

10. Slice the kielbasa into coins.

11. Preheat your griddle or skillet and add 1 Tbsp of avocado oil.

12. Begin cooking the cabbage over medium heat with 3 Tbsp of butter. Add the kielbasa coins to the griddle/skillet as well. Season everything with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder to taste. Add a squirt of water to the cabbage and cover with a dome or lid to steam quickly.

13. Once the kielbasa is charred to your liking and the cabbage is tender, add the noodles and mix everything together. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

*To make this lower in carbs, leave out the noodles. It is still just as delicious!
